Michael Sher serves as CFO of Peridot, bringing more than 40 years of accounting, advisory, and audit experience with a specialized focus on real estate and construction. Throughout his career, he has advised real estate owners, operators, and developers on financial reporting, operational accounting, and portfolio management across a wide range of asset classes.

Over the course of his career, Michael has held leadership positions at nationally recognized accounting and advisory firms, including BDO and, more recently, Plante Moran. He previously served as the real estate and construction industry leader for BDO’s accounting advisory and outsourcing practice and spent many years as an audit partner and team leader advising institutional and middle-market real estate clients.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Accounting and Auditing degree and a Higher Diploma in Taxation from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he received the Raymond Stein Award for achieving the highest marks in taxation. He is both a licensed CPA in Illinois and a qualified South African Chartered Accountant.

At Peridot, Michael oversees accounting strategy, financial operations, and reporting infrastructure, bringing institutional-level financial discipline and decades of real estate advisory experience to the platform.
